Reed Pipe

Reed pipes are wind instruments, usually made from wood, that have an internal free reed made from cane or metal. When you blow air into the pipe, the reed vibrates, creating a distinctive sound quality. More familiar among western musical instruments are reed instruments with external, attached reeds secured to the mouthpiece, such as the clarinet.
